Gui Carrara is a director and cinematographer who believes the power of imagery is constantly evolving as a communication tool.
With a background in journalism and a deep passion for cinema, his path to the audiovisual world began through skateboarding and documentary filmmaking, influences that continue to shape his work.
Storytelling is his true calling.
Over the past two years, he has thrived as both a director and director of photography on commercial projects and short films. His short films have garnered international recognition, including selections at the 2022 Cannes World Festival ("Francisco") and Clermont-Ferrand Festival ("Tapuia") in France, as well as Kinoforum. Among his cinematography credits are the feature film "I Would Cross the Whole City Just to See You Dance," the short film "Paranoia," and the fashion documentary "J'mapelle Brasil."
In the advertising world, Carrara's directorial talents have been sought after by major brands like Budweiser, Samsung, Itaipava, Itaú, Coca-Cola, Lacoste, L'Occitane, Noize Record Club, and Asics. He has also collaborated with fashion magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, and Glamour, and with artists including Don L, Teto, Supercombo, Kamaitachi, and Lagum.
